Solo, Simple, Stunning...Cupcake

You must be able to stand alone before you can stand with anyone else.  This isn't easy but so important to know yourself, where you came from and what your goals are for the future.  Always have goals for yourself, they make you a stronger person because you are sure to learn new things about yourself in the process.  Keep an open mind and you are sure to always learn something new.

Be willing to take chances knowing there is a possibility of failing.
Do things for yourself, it is OK to be "selfish" from time to time.
Be a leader...followers don't achieve to their potential.
Surround yourself with great people to bring out your great attributes. 
Surprise yourself with all that you can do.

Find YOU now and always stay true to that person! You deserve happiness and this is the only way to guarantee smiles and  friends forever at your side!

If you aren't the bigger person EVERY time, who will be?

Just think at least you are in control and know you put your best effort forward! Be that friend that always stands out because of your positive qualities that everyone raves about.  Know, love, believe and trust in yourself and that confidence will sure to shine though to everyone.  It isn't easy being this person but it takes a special person. Not feeling myself lately :/

Have a real heavy heart and think it is one of the worse feelings ever. I know only I can cure this but I hate knowing I have to do it by myself.  Ever have those times where you feel like all your best friends have lost touch for one reason or another?  I wish God didn't use my friends to test my patience so often.  I want my friends to always be my constant and keep me sane :)

I love that friends trust that they can come to me for advice and talk about some difficult topics.  I love giving advice, being open and honest and just talking things through with others.  The talking helps me as well, because although I might seem to have my life together it isn't always perfect cupcakes :) Challenges are good for all of us but we have to be willing to tackle the challenges and not let the challenge take control of our lives.  I am so lucky to have friends all over the country but I wonder at times if things would be easier if I could see some of them on a more regular basis. 

Everything happens for a reason (as I've said before) but we don't always have to understand those reasonings when we begin to question something.  Here are some of my questions lately: why do boyfriends come into a friends life and the friend forgets how to be a friend? why do adults feel it so difficult to make a decison for themself without approval of someone else? why does the one that has a piece of your heart make life seem that much more difficult? New things are bound to happen, when one door closes there is another one open behind you.  When it feels like many doors are closing there must be so many great opportunities in the works...one can only hope I guess. 

I feel better already! Writing really is a great release and always a strategy I will recommend to others :)

Vanilla Raspberry Cupcakes

Happy Easter! Holidays are a great time to recognize all the amazing people that we have in our lives.  I had a great time making cupcakes and cake pops with friends and then sharing them with family.  Cupcakes are my creative outlet and stress reliever.  Cake pops were a new experiment and although more time consuming they were fun and turned out great! 

Today (and all holidays really) is a time you will receive text and/or posts from people you don't hear from often and as much as I enjoy this it is also frustrating to me.  I would keep in touch with everyone that ever walked into my life if they would make the effort in return.  It is sad to me to see so many people walk into and out of friends lives because of people or events that happen.  Friends were there first and I would hope would be there until the end.  I have always said, "No man will ever keep me away from friends, in fact I will have my girl time and encourage him to have his guy time."  I think it is important in any relationship to spend some time apart because no matter how short the time or distance the heart will grow fonder.  God gave us friends for a reason and abusing and using them I'm sure was not in his plan.  I have lost touch with so many great friends, friends that I never thought I would lose, because of boyfriends or choices I could no longer support.  I will always be here with open arms to welcome friends back but respect I will not lose.  Unfortunately for friends that do come back things are never quite the same and feel estranged from that point forward.  So, on days like today when I receive a "Happy Easter" text from a friend I don't talk to on a regular basis I know it came from the heart but I just can't understand why we can't have more than a random text a couple times a year?!  Why can't we move on from that awkward moment even after we have discussed what pulled us apart from the beginning? These and many other similar questions come to mind often but in the end the text brings a smile to my face and I think aloud I LOVE HOLIDAYS and how they will always bring family and friends together.

Lavender Cupcakes

Although I've never had Lavender Cupcakes they seem appropriate for the Spring and Lenten seasons that are upon us.  As the season of Lent comes to a close in 2 days I can only hope for warmer weather and beautiful sunshine.  We had a long cold winter and spring is proving to be cold and rainy.  It is amazing how much of a difference the weather makes in our moods.  Rain, Snow or Sunshine we always have friends that are sure to keep a smile on our face. 

Friends are my second family and I love that I have been blessed to have so many great people come into my life.  I am not a girl only has one best friend and it seems that once you gain that status with me no matter what happens I will always hold a special place in my heart for you.  I believe that everything happens for a reason and I am in no position to question God's plan.  I have lots on my mind and heart and I want to share.  As my posts continue you and I will share our trials and tribulations of life with our friends.  Remember, friends are our family so of course there will be ups and downs, the challenge with friendship is staying true to ourself and still being honest with others.
